Novelties of the Month

Ok so we saw some pretty cool things this month. Check it out.

This video is of the girls in our school. They train every morning with these toy guns. Why? To perform at school events. Why only girls? I am still asking people that question and they just don't seem to know. But I will get to the bottom of it.

The pictures were too small last time so here is this picture again with another. This is the students when they get off their morning bus. The boys in one line and the girls in another. Pretty spectacularly traditional. Why do they do this? No one seems to know. Tradition is the only answer. I hope someone will be able to shed some light.

Wait is this a fire drill. Hey guys! Where are you going?!! Alan?! What are they saying?! Where are they going?!!!

Oh. It's the morning assembly. They have one almost everyday. Most Schools in Taiwan do not do this. But because this school is a private military-like school they do it on a regular basis.

This is the view of the entire assembly from. Keep in mind this is just part of high school. The middle School and other part of the high school have their assembly somewhere else.

It's an ice cream truck! Yeah! Ice cream! Alan let's get some ice cream! Yeah! Ice Cream! We are going to get some ice cream. Wait. No....that's the garbage truck????!!!

This is our garbage truck. Check it out. It is always an exciting daily event....

Love the garbage truck. Apparently that is the Fur elise by Beethoven.

Anyways, That ends this months novelties. Stay tuned for a video on our awesome mosquito killing method.

the end.

  2. Dang I'm jealous on a number of levels... 1) your pictures turned out way better than any of mine thought about doing. 2) you have someone to enjoy all the madness with.
On the days I had to take the bus, I was the random white guy in the middle of those segregated lines

  4. Yeah, my kids thought it was the ice cream truck too when we first moved here. I cracked up when I was walking down Guang Fu Lu one day and saw a stinking garbage truck making its stops and the tune was playing over and over. Nice video. No bing chaling though, sadly.
